What I did

An inability to capture and use data is lead to an impersonal and often broke experience for prospective students looking to apply, and a disjointed experience for staff who manage the process.

##Find your Nottingham
A primary hub for discovery, the prospectus home surfaces entry points into content with a hierarchy driven by user insight.

For those who want to interact UoN drive prospective students towards signing up. A few questions allow the university to get to know each prospective student in return for a tailored experience.

###Enhanced discoverability
We heard consistently that prospects use search as their primary way to finding relevant courses and information. Witch cookies enabled, we can shortcut journeys with search history and recommendations. Without cookies, we can anticipate their intent by providing popular topics . 

Browsing in grid or list view lets users choose how much information they when looking for courses, promoting of how to articles to help guide prospects.

###Scannable course landing page
The course landing page packs a lot of information in view as soon as users arrive. We tested the course content to prioritise component hierarchy making sure we surface the most relevant information.

###Deep dive modal
Component that enables a deeper level of exploration without breaking the journey. We heard that prospects find long form articles a turn off. We surface more engaging forms of content on the landing page and make use of the tray for those that want to get into the details.

###Campus up close
We heard that prospective students feel more connected to their future course if they are able to view or interact with the facilities and department infrastructure beforehand as they can assess it against their expectations and envision themselves there. 

The responsive viewing gallery and info tray let’s users explore the campus through images, video and 360 degrees.

###Brand evolution
Applicants described the university's personality as bland or unmemorable. Struggling to think about Nottingham beyond it’s features, whilst others see ita as being so professional - it distances them.

Finn Rush-Taylor studio is a footwear design studio based in London with a strong passion for fashion and sport. They work with various clients from start-ups to market leading brands such as Puma, Adidas and Axel Arigato. Having collaborated with the studio before they commissioned me to develop their studio brand identity, website and digital strategy.

We found that the studio was growing fast yet there digital presence was lacking, with no current site.

##Refined and impactful identity for a renowned designer
Develop all aspects of the studios brand from the digital brand identity, new site design and social assets.

Fully aware of the studios obsession with innovation and off the wall approach to footwear design. We focused on creating a brand that was bold and unapologetic. An identity that felt futuristic given the emerging technologies they work with and 3D digital designs they create

##Stepping into success
As the studio was in its infancy, much of the work was either in flight or couldn't be shared due to NDAs. We agreed it was essential to have a website so clients could connect. The solution was to create a holding page whilst projects were under development.

This allowed the studio to introduce their new brand identity across all channels and tease upcoming projects, whilst providing a key point of contact for potential clients

We focused on designing a holding page with unique interactions and creating an impact that would tease the studios designs - getting users excited about upcoming projects. Torch cursor effect achieves this by allowing users to explore designs in an engaging and playful way.

##Social engagement
We found that the studio's traction and following originated from social media. With our help, the studio developed social templates that aligned with the new brand. Designing templates and 3D assets for product launches.

##Immersive studio home
We wanted the work to take centre stage on the main site. Aiming to get out of the way, we chose to let imagery & video content lead individual components on the homepage.

We decided to use typography that matched the impactful imagery and minimal approach while using copy sparingly.

##Re-crafting the brand identity and unlocking the full potential of their e-commerce shop, with the ultimate goal of broadening the brand's influence and boosting online sales.

Inn House Breweries previous site was built over a decade ago, making content difficult to manage and the design was starting to feel dated.

Users were experiencing many problems with the site's responsiveness and usability. The site's structure was confusing and not easily accessible. Making it difficult for users to complete end-to-end purchases.

The in-shop experience is unique. Inn House brewery stocks several craft and artisan brands that attract customers from all over Scotland, with in-store experts to assist with your brew mix.

##Crafting a digitally ready brand
First up we redesigned the brand identity. Inn house breweries hope was for the brand to be “crafty and authentic but not to compete with typical loud craft beer brands"

A revised brand palette was inspired by the surrounding area. The art direction and visual language across the site is bold and friendly, working with playful UI elements such as price tags. We kept the typography choices classic yet modern, with an artisan feel to complement the content.

##Bringing the in store experience online
It was clear that customers enjoyed their in-store experience and valued the ability to mix and match while browsing the store. To make it easier for customers to tailor their ingredients, we created a custom recipe builder. By providing all the elements needed to create a brew, users of all skill levels can start brewing right away.

##Unlocking new value
Customers found it difficult to navigate the previous site, often struggling to find what they were looking for. With the new site structure, we enabled users to discover and browse products more easily, unlocking new value for the business. To showcase the new structure and allow users to explore the vast products available quickly and intuitively, we designed a mega menu.
